This months meeting is canceled. We'll be meeting one on one with our key players to get the details together to kick off and submit our initiatives. Thank you!

Eugene is where STAR Voting was invented and where it’s seen the strongest campaign to date. On last November’s Lane County Initiative, Eugene’s precincts voted decisively to pass STAR Voting and the Central Eugene precinct voted yes by over 70%.

To submit a ballot initiative for Eugene City elections we need up to 3 Chief Petitioners and a written charter amendment. Alternately, the City Council can refer the question to the ballot directly, avoiding the signature gathering process all together. Out of the 8 City Councilors the STAR Lane Initiative received endorsements from 4; Emily Semple, Mike Clark, Betty Taylor, and Jennifer Yey. We would need 5 to agree to refer STAR Voting to the ballot for Eugene.

Ballot initiatives for Lane County elections are easier, in that you have a much longer window to collect signatures. For that reason once we are gathering signatures for Eugene we might as well also gather them for Lane County. I clipboard, 2 birds!

*PDX/Multnomah: 2nd Sundays, 4:30-6:30pm, Lucky Lab on Hawthorne. Portland, OR.
