A Town Hall on the STAR Voting for Eugene Ballot Measure 20-349
Join us on Wednesday, May 1st at 11am for a Town Hall on STAR Voting, hosted by the Eugene Public Library and the League of Women Voters Lane County.
The presentation will feature speakers Sara Wolk and Hayden Sasswood from local non-profit the Equal Vote Coalition and Terry Parker from Lane League talking about the upcoming STAR Voting for Eugene ballot initiative. The event will include a presentation on STAR Voting, a demo election, and a Q&A session.
On May 21st, the measure will come up for a public vote, and if adopted, STAR Voting will become the standard election method for all city offices, including Eugene mayor, city council, and EWEB.
Under STAR Voting if adopted voters would only need to vote once in November for city elections. They would score their candidates from 0 up to 5 stars. The two highest-scoring candidates are finalists and your vote automatically goes to the finalist you prefer.
